Reunion eSIM - frequently asked questions
Do I need an eSIM for Reunion?
An eSIM lets you use mobile data in Reunion without paying roaming fees or hunting for a local SIM card. You buy it online, scan a QR code, and connect when you arrive.
How do I install my Reunion eSIM?
After payment you receive a QR code by email and in your account. On your phone open Settings → Mobile data / Cellular → Add eSIM, scan the code, and switch the eSIM on when you land in Reunion.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number and normal SIM?
Yes. The eSIM runs alongside your physical SIM, so your usual number stays active while the Esim Safar plan provides data in Reunion.
Is my phone compatible with a Reunion eSIM?
Most phones released since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked.
When does my Reunion eSIM plan start?
The validity period starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in Reunion, not when you buy it, so you can install it before you fly.
